What is happening at Virgin Active Wembley?
Wembley is becoming South Africa’s first Collection Urban Club – a premium urban destination where wellness, fitness, work and community come together.
When does the club reopen?
The club is scheduled to reopen as Wembley Collection Urban in September 2026.
When do the new prices take effect?
The approved new monthly rates take effect on Thursday, 1 October 2026.
What is a Founder Member?
A Founder Member secures the applicable preferential rate before 30 September 2026. Founder products generally require a new 12-month commitment.
What is the Collection Urban Founder rate?
The retail Founder rate is R1,650 per month and the eligible Vitality contribution is R825 per month, with Wembley + Premier access for the applicable product.
What applies to Vitality Legacy Club members?
The Wembley-only legacy contribution is R399 per month against a R1,650 retail product. Members who do not recommit may use the approved no-cost transfer route to another eligible club.
What applies to Vitality Legacy Premier members?
The Wembley + Premier legacy contribution is R499 per month against a R1,650 retail product.
What is the month-to-month rate?
The retail month-to-month rate is R1,999 per month and the eligible Vitality contribution is R999.50 per month.
Are children under 8 charged?
No. Any child 0-7 remains free until their 8th birthday, subject to the family access and supervision rules.
What happens when a child turns 8?
The free 0-7 arrangement ends. The applicable rate is now applicable on eligible Vitality member
What is the Youth rate?
The Youth rate is R1,200 retail or R600 for an eligible Vitality member, with Wembley + Premier access.
What happens to Off-Peak membership?
Off-Peak will no longer be sold to new members. Existing eligible Off-Peak members may transition at R1,250 retail or R313 Vitality, on a Founder 12-month Wembley-only product.
Can Premier members access Wembley?
No. The standard Premier excluding Wembley.
Do current members need to complete a new journey?
Members selecting a Founder product must confirm their choice and recommit. Members who take no action receive the applicable default treatment for their current membership.
Why is pricing changing?
The new rate reflects expanded facilities, premium amenities, additional studios, recovery experiences and the broader Collection Urban proposition.
How does a member accept an option?
Use the personalised link in the member email, the app or a club QR code, or request assistance from the club or Contact Centre.
How long is the Founder offer available?
The offer is available until Wednesday, 30 September 2026, subject to the published product terms and availability.
Where can members get help?
Members can speak to the Wembley team, use the Contact Centre, request a callback or book an appointment through the Collection Urban microsite.
What access rights do Urban Collection members get?
Urban Collection members can access Wembley and Premier clubs. They do not have access to Collection or Collection Country clubs.
Some existing Wembley members (members who were existing Wembley members prior to tier change) may have different access rights, as communicated in their individual member communications.
