What's the "Trip of a Lifetime" competition all about?
You could win an incredible trip for you and a friend to almost anywhere on Earth! We’re talking 7 days/6 nights (depending on your chosen destination), return flights, accommodation, spending money, and much more. Imagine exploring Paris, New York, Dubai, or even Bali – the choice is yours, up to a maximum value of R200,000!
How do I enter?
It’s simple! If you’re a Virgin Active App Member, all you need to do is achieve your weekly goal between August 4, 2025, and October 5, 2025. Once you hit your goal, select the competition entry as your reward in the app. Each week you achieve your goal and select the entry, you’ll get another chance to win!
Who can enter this competition?
To enter, you need to be:
- A current Virgin Active Member.
- Have the Virgin Active App downloaded.
- 18 years or older.
- A resident of South Africa.
What does the prize include?
The prize is pretty comprehensive! It covers:
- 7 Days/6 Nights (destination dependent)
- Return flights from South Africa for two people
- Airport taxes and transfers (from Johannesburg to OR Tambo and at your destination)
- Accommodation with daily breakfast
- Travel insurance
- Up to R20,000 spending money
- Visa fees (where applicable and pre-arranged by the promoter)
- Travel concierge assistance
- A voucher for a travel kit and luggage
Remember, any expenses or activities not explicitly mentioned in your chosen holiday package will be for your own account.
When does the competition run, and when are the winners announced?
The competition runs for 10 weeks, from August 4, 2025, to October 5, 2025.
- Weekly finalists will be drawn every Tuesday, starting August 12, 2025, until October 14, 2025 (10 finalists in total).
- The Grand Prize draw will take place on October 24, 2025, in Cape Town. All 10 finalists will be invited to attend the Grand Prize draw, with Virgin Active flying in those residing outside of the Western Cape.
What happens if I'm chosen as a finalist?
If you’re one of the lucky 10 finalists, we’ll contact you to accept the competition terms and conditions. We’ll attempt to reach you up to three times via email or phone. Finalists’ names and photos will also be listed on our dedicated: competition landing page. By accepting, you grant Virgin Active permission to use your name and photo for promotional purposes.
Can I choose any destination in the world?
Pretty much! You get to choose from a fantastic selection of destinations, including popular spots like Paris, New York, Dubai, Bali, Mauritius, and more! If there is a destination not on our list, we’ll work with you to accommodate your requests. While we aim to offer a wide range, the final selection of holiday packages will be provided by Virgin Active, subject to availability and the maximum prize value of R200,000.
Are there any important travel requirements I need to be aware of?
Yes, absolutely!
- Both you and your travel guest must be 18 years or older and have valid passports with no travel restrictions.
- You must have an active virgin active membership before and during the duration of your trip.
- Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your intended return date and have at least two blank pages.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have all required visas for your chosen destination and any transit countries.
- It’s also your responsibility to check and comply with health requirements and vaccinations for your destination.
Can I exchange the prize for cash or transfer it to someone else?
No, the Grand Prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. It can only be issued in the winner’s name. Once the holiday package is booked, it’s non-refundable, and travel dates are locked in, with any changes subject to Virgin Active’s approval and at your own cost. The prize must be redeemed within 6 months of the issue date.
