There is an exciting development in Padel tennis in South Africa. Virgin Active South Africa’s Padel Club has partnered with Epic Padel to add this exciting new sport to the list of exercise experiences available to its members from June 2023.
Virgin Active announced the launch of Virgin Active Padel Club in October 2022 and has now teamed up with Epic Padel, one of South Africa’s top companies in the South African Padel industry. Epic Padel has built exceptional Padel clubs across South Africa, including the country’s first multi-court indoor arena, singles, and covered outdoor courts.
Jessica Spira, Managing Director of Virgin Active South Africa, shared this exciting news, “Incorporating Padel into our offering was an obvious decision for us, considering how the sport has grown exponentially, globally and in South Africa. The ease of the game also makes it very accessible and inclusive for all ages, which is a key consideration for us when it comes to upholding our wellness philosophy for our members.”

Epic Padel clubs at Huddle Park, Durbanville and The Glen will now form part of the Virgin Active Padel Club network of Padel courts.
An extensive rollout of new Padel courts at Virgin Active clubs and other locations throughout South Africa will happen over the next year. Further exciting developments at Huddle Park are currently taking place. Also, new clubs at Randpark Golf Club in Johannesburg and Groenkloof Bowling Club in Pretoria are presently in development.
The Padel business will grow further at the hands of Elian Wiener, Adam Fine and Richard Lewis, the co-founders of Epic Padel.

Anybody can enjoy a game of Padel at one of Virgin Active Padel Club’s world-class courts. Bathroom and locker room facilities, food and refreshments, coaching, leagues, and tournaments are available to Virgin Active members and non-members alike. In addition, various Padel merchandise, including a wide range of Adidas Padel products, are for sale and rent at Virgin Active Padel Club pro shops.
