Since the launch of this exciting Latin-infused exercise class in Virgin Active Health Clubs, Zumba has taken South Africa by storm.

To encourage people to dance themselves sexy, Virgin Active (in true Virgin style) ambushed one of the busiest nightspots in Cape Town’s CBD with a Zumba street carnival. Long Street was brought to life on Friday, 24 July, with Virgin Active’s topless truck filled with dancers, booming Latin music and streaming a screaming group of excited followers behind, as it made its way down Cape Town’s party strip. Singing to the tunes, dancing to the beats and swaying to the glow of disco sticks was the name of the game as the crowd grew to the thrilling climax of the night, where Virgin Active’s enormous Zumba billboard was activated by the residents living within the building, when they burst open their windows to join the party and flirt themselves fit. It seems the police were just as mesmerised by the enchanting display, as they simply smiled and slowed their squad cars, instead of stopping the celebration.

Virgin Active has successfully unleashed Zumba on the country, showing South Africans just why life’s more fun when you move.
