We offer 1 or 2 year memberships at the club of your choosing. For those who want to train at more than 1 club, we offer a Virgin Active Premier membership. However, the Virgin Active Premier membership doesn’t include Virgin Active Collection Clubs.
Simply present your Virgin Active Premier membership card or Virgin Active Collection card upon your visit at the club of your choice abroad.
Yes we do. They are under surveillance at Virgin Active RED and CCTV surveillance at Virgin Active Health Clubs and Virgin Active Collection clubs, and this includes valuables' lockers.

We only offer off-peak membership options for Virgin Active Health Clubs. We feel that the price of Virgin Active RED is the best possible price we can offer. In fact. We think it’s so good, everyone should be able to afford it.
For the safety of our members and staff we have secured the turnstiles with a device that requires you to not only tag in but also tag out. You would therefore need to use your membership card again to open the turnstile.
We all know that circumstances can change, so we try to be as accommodating as possible. If time is a factor in your decision to leave, try our freeze option (this excludes corporate memberships). This allows you to keep your membership open while giving you a bit of time. Do you want to cancel because you’re lacking the motivation? We can help, chat to us about your programme and goals. Are finances part of the decision? We have many different membership types and it may be possible for you to change to a cheaper membership option. Are you moving? Is there another Virgin Active close to where you are relocating to? We don’t want you to go but if cancelling is the only suitable option and if you’re still in the initial period of your membership, you can cancel by paying a cancellation fee that is calculated off the remaining amount still owing on your contract. Discuss your circumstances with your club and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Discovery Vitality and Momentum Multiply members can join via their rewards programme at discounted monthly fees. The price structure and Ts &Cs remain the same. Virgin Active RED memberships are only joinable through the Discovery Vitality rewards programme.

We’re confident that our clubs and facilities are so good, you won't want to take anything less than a 1 year membership. However, if you do, just ask one of our helpful sales staff about pricing. You can also ask about trying out your nearest Virgin Active, free (by appointment only), to see whether you like it.

It depends on how many sessions you want. Why not start with our Booster pack? It’s a 3 session offering starting at R50 per session. This is a great way to get started and it allows you to make an informed decision about personal training.
No, but we have exercise plans available on However, if you’re a Virgin Active RED member, we’ve got free workout plans on the Hello wall. Just pick your goal. Pick how much time you have to train. Grab an exercise card and off you go. These get changed every month so you’ll never be get bored with your programme ever again.
Our staff are only too happy to help. Just ask. If you’re a Virgin Active RED member and you can’t see any staff around, simply press the help buttons positioned on the training floor and we will speed to your assistance.
Yes, but it is an extra cool card, one that stores your fingerprint on it. That way, your fingerprint gets you in, ensuring that nobody else can use your card.
We’ve shown the most popular membership types and prices. But we have a variety of different packages to suit your circumstances, including special rates for off-peak packages and rewards programme packages. They vary by club, so please ask your membership team for more details.
Simple, training kit aside, bring:
• Your ID book
• If you’ve added a child to your contract, you’ll need to bring their birth certificate along for their first visit
• A sweat towel (for you… We have paper towels and spray bottles for the equipment)
• 2 locks: one for your valuables (small lockers for keys and wallets etc., in CCTV monitored areas) and one for the changeroom lockers. Please note: Our lockers are cleaned out every evening so be sure to take all of your things when you leave the club
• A water bottle.
Because some of our clubs differ in location, size, equipment and facilities (i.e. our pools, etc.), the prices differ accordingly.
We offer a variety of classes designed to cater for the individual wanting to train in smaller or big groups. You simply pick a class based on your goal and studio preference.
While booking isn’t mandatory, we do allow members to book 50% of the class. Bookings can be done on the MyVa App (available on the Apple and Android App stores).
