Club-V / Club-V Max Rules & Regulations

NB: Club Rules & Regulations remain applicable.
1. Your access card:
1.1 All Club-V Club-V Max members, including babies and toddlers under the age of 3 years must have a Club-V Max access card.
1.2 Please remember your access card; all Club-V / Club-V Max members must be swiped into the Club and Club-V / Club-V Max with their access card - without it you cannot gain access to the Club or Club-V / Club-V Max. In addition, Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must accompany you into the Club and into Club-V / Club-V Max on all occasions.
1.3 If you've lost your Club-V / Club-V Max access card, Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian needs to report it to your nearest Club-V / Club-V Max as soon as possible. A new one will be issued to you at the going rate.
1.4 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must bring along their positive identification when collecting your access card.
1.5 Your Club-V / Club-V Max membership is only valid to access Club-V / Club-V Max as per your membership type.
1.6 Unfortunately, your membership may not be traded, transferred or assigned to any other person. If you allow your access card to be used by a friend who is not a member, you may be expelled from Club-V / Club-V Max and the Club, and have your membership terminated.
1.7 If membership fees are in arrears, you will be denied access to Club-V / Club-V Max i.e. you will not be able to access Club-V / Club-V Max until Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian has settled the outstanding amount (Virgin Active and Club-V Max memberships). Similarly, if membership fees for Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian are in arrears they will be unable to access/accompany you into the Club or Club-V / Club-V Max until the outstanding amount is settled.
2. Security:
2.1 Over and above gaining access to the Club and Club-V / Club-V Max with your access card, Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must sign you in and out of Club-V / Club-V Max on every visit.
2.2 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must allow sufficient time to ensure all signing in and out requirements are fully completed.
2.3 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must remain in the Club while you are in Club-V / Club-V Max.
2.4 You may not leave Club-V / Club-V Max without being signed out and accompanied by Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian.
2.5 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must have completed a Club-V / Club-V Max Risk Screening Questionnaire (Club-V Max Members 3 – 13yrs); a "Child Care Agreement and Information Guide" must be completed for babies and toddlers [under 3’s(and all Club-V Members)].
3. Club-V / Club-V Max members:
3.1 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian will be held responsible for ensuring that Club-V / Club-V Max members abide by the Club’s Rules and Regulations.
3.2 Child care is provided for babies (from 6 weeks old) and toddlers (under 3’s) as per Club-V / Club-V Max operating hours, for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours per day, but only while their parents or legal guardian is training in the Club.
NOTE: Club-V Max child care is limited to under 3’s.
3.3 The Club-V Max facility (with the exception of child care) is available to you as per the Club-V Max Timetable and Club-V Max operating hours.
3.4 You may participate in activities offered at Club-V / Club-V Max for a maximum of 2 consecutive hours per day (both child and parent/ legal guardian are required to present their access cards when using the Club-V / Club-V Max facility)
3.5 Remind Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian that you need to arrive on time especially for group exercise classes – to ensure that you have warmed up properly, it is advised that you do not join such a class more than 10 minutes after it has started. Late arrivals are also disruptive for everyone else participating!
3.6 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must collect you from Club-V Max at the allotted time.
3.7 Some Club-V Max activities require pre-booking. This is advised as some sessions have limited spaces available; such sessions are clearly indicated on the Club-V Max Timetable. 3.8 You may bring a liquid refreshment with you (clearly labelled with your name). Food / Snacks are not permitted in Club-V/ Club-V Max.
3.9 If you are over the age of 4 years you are not permitted to accompany your Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian into the change room of the opposite gender.
3.10 If you are sick you will not be admitted into Club-V / Club-V Max. 3.11 All Club-V / Club-V Max activities are to be conducted and supervised by Club-V Staff. 3.12 Mom or Dad, or your Legal Guardian may not stay with the facility longer than 5 minutes. A maximum of 10 minutes is permitted should they be settling a child; They are not permitted to sit and watch TV or supervise any of the activities. 3.13 If you are between 3 - 6 yrs old, you can be sent to use the toilet with a fellow child or friend in the same class/activity. Since 3 - 4 year olds, may require a higher level of supervision and assistance when using the toilet, a Club-V Staff member may assist. NOTE: that no male Club-V Coaches are permitted to assist young children whilst in the bathroom area. Should you need the toilet, then the male Club-V Coach must call a female colleague to assist.
4. May I bring a guest?
4.1 Virgin Active welcomes you bringing along a Club-V / Club-V Max guest, but before accessing the Club, their parent/legal guardian must complete an ‘Hello There' on their behalf.
4.2 The parent or legal guardian of the Club-V / Club-V Max member will be held responsible for the conduct of the Club-V / Club-V Max guest in the Club and Club-V / Club-V Max.
4.3 All Club-V / Club-V Max guests will be charged a set fee to use Club-V / Club-V Max, unless they are the bearers of a Club-V Max guest voucher.
5. What should I wear?
5.1 You should always wear loose comfortable clothing appropriate to the activity, or class in which you will be participating.
5.2 You should also always wear closed soft soled, non-marking shoes/trainers (not ‘slops’) while exercising.
5.3 If you are participating in arts and crafts sessions, you should rather wear older clothes due to potential damage that could occur during the use of paint, glue etc.
6. Booking procedures:
6.1 Some Club-V Max Classes require pre-booking – these are indicated with a * on the Club-V Max Timetable and may be booked at Club-V Max Reception. Booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment due to no more spaces being available. Note that the number of spaces available will be strictly managed.
6.2 Please remind Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian to comply with Club Rules and Regulations when booking for specific classes offered by the Club-V Max Programme.
6.3 If you are unable to attend a booked class, Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must cancel your booking at least 24 hours in advance; the Cancellation Policy can be referred to at Club-V Max Reception. 6.4 Birthday Parties can be booked at Club-V Max reception,1 month to 3 weeks before the party; Bookings can be cancelled no later than 7 days before the party. 7. Swimming Pools:
7.1 If participating in the Club-V Max Splash Programme, Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must be comfortable that you can swim 25 metres without the use of buoyancy aid.
7.2 You must always wear a swimming cap and appropriate swimming costume when participating in the Splash programme offered as per the Club-V Max Timetable.
8. Steam and saunas:
8.1 You may not use the steam room or sauna as per the Club’s Rules and Regulations.
9. Valuables:
9.1 You are advised not to bring valuables with you to Club-V / Club-V Max.
9.2 As per the Club’s Rules and Regulations, Virgin Active SA (Pty) Ltd. ("the Company") will not be held responsible for any loss or theft of money, or personal property of Club-V / Club-V Max members.
10. Lost property:
10.1 Lost property will be donated to charity if not collected within 14 days. The Company does not accept responsibility for lost property or for Club-V / Club-V Max members’ property left and/or stored in the Club.
11. Getting your fingers burnt:
11.1 Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian will be held responsible for your conduct and/or that of Club-V / Club-V Max guests in the Club and Club-V / Club-V Max.
11.2 Any Club-V / Club-V Max member may be expelled/suspended by the Company for violation of any rule or regulation of the Company or for any conduct which in the opinion of the Company’s management is detrimental to the welfare, good order or character of the Company and the Club’s members.
12. And finally - Mom or Dad, or your legal guardian must take note of the following:
12.1 Life is tough, so if you wilfully or negligently cause damage to the Company’s property, Mom or Dad, or legal guardian will be held responsible and have to pay for the damage caused.
12.2 The Company reserves the right to amend these Rules and Regulations from time to time and Club-V / Club-V Max members and their parents should always familiarise themselves with the Rules and Regulations currently in force.
12.3 The Company reserves the right to introduce further Club-V / Club-V Max membership types from time to time
12.4 The Company reserves the right to use its members’ image if taken during photographic shoots of facilities or as standard photography.
12.5 Management must clear the use of the Company’s logos whether for promotional, marketing or advertising means.
